The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change', and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in the knowledge that it too would change! All you need to do is to make up your mind to be happy!

Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make a life more wonderful and also more healthy.

You can choose how happy or stressed, how relaxed or troubled, how bright or dull you would want to be. The choice is simple really, choose to be happy. And the easiest way to be happy is by being grateful. Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life.

Being grateful is a great attitude. We have so much to be thankful for. Thank the taxi driver for bringing you home safely, thank the cook for a wonderful dinner, thank your spouse for helping you out, thank your children for being well behaved etc...and most importantly, thank GOD for being so good and kind to you and for being alive!

Remember that most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be...Abraham Lincoln.

If it does not challenge you, it will not change you! This is so true!

The great milestones I have had in my life was as a result of the challenges I faced and won, because I did not allow the challenges to  bring me down, instead I used them as a stepping stone to rise. In fact the truth is, every great man and woman rose as a result of their challenges- trials, tribulations, disappointments from friends and colleagues even from a loved one and so on.

Listen friend,  until that situation challenges you, your eyes of understanding will never open. You want change? Then do not shy away from your challenges! Work it right through and you will have a whole new life's transforming experience.

The truth is, beyond your challenges lies your breakthrough, only if you do not give up!

When clouds gather, the eagle gets extremely excited; because once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to rise above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. Meanwhile, all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees.

Which one are you? Other birds or an Eagle. The Eagle, as said earlier gets excited when they face an opposition- they use the storms of life, the setbacks,  the mistakes to rise to greater heights. As an eagle, relish the challenges you are facing right now and use them profitably! The Eagle does not follow the trend; never unstable, very focused!

You must stay focused on your goal (even when your 5 senses are screaming discouragement, fear and doubt) in order to achieve success. I have never seen a focused man or woman who stayed down! They soar! You too can soar even higher; just stayed focused, learn your lessons from your mistakes and get best!

Why is it so easy for so many people to stay focused on past misfortune? What good does it do them?

Let go. Stop clinging to the pain of the past. There is nothing you can do about the wrongs of yesterday. It is not yours to judge. Why hold on to the very thing that keeps you from hope and love?

Someone once said that to "make that change"  you must start with “the man in the mirror”. That means you.

Whatever circumstance you find yourself in today that you are not happy or satisfied with, you can change. Just make the choice. Jim Rohn, one of my favourite motivational speakers, put it so eloquently: “Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish; we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish; we can start a new activity. Any day we wish; we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.” Any day we wish!

Always have your breakfast! Studies reveal that eating breakfast properly actually helps in losing weight. Make sure to have a balanced diet that includes fresh fruits, low-fat milk, high fiber cereals, boiled egg, and whole wheat toast and more.

Apple juice email can fight Alzheimer's disease. Drinking at least two glasses a day helps to reduce the formation of sticky plagues which can be found in the brains of dementia patients.

Be very much in touch with your family and friends, as it promotes good health.

Continue to lead a healthy lifestyle!

Do not worry about inspiration. You cannot force it; inspiration hits when you least expect it to, for those unpredictable yet inevitable moments you should prepare! An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm's reach at all times. And hey, never tell a young person that anything cannot be done. GOD may have been waiting centuries for someone ignorant of the impossible to do "that very thing!"

Thoughts are very powerful. They affect our general attitude. The attitude we carry reflects on your appearance, unless, of course, you are a great actor. Lol

And it doesn't end there. Your attitude can also affect people around you. This is so true!

The type of attitude you carry depends on you. It can be either positive or negative.

Positive thoughts have a filling effect. They are admittedly invigorating. Plus, the people around the person carrying positive thoughts are usually energized by this type of attitude.

Negative thoughts on the other hand have a sapping effect on other people. It makes you look gloomy and sad, and can turn a fun gathering into a very sad moment.

Our attitude is also defined by the way we look at the world. If you choose to focus on the negative things in the world, more or less you have a negative attitude brewing up. However, if you choose to focus on the positive things, you are more likely carry a positive attitude.

A positive attitude begins with a healthy self-image. If you will love the way you are and are satisfied, confident, and self-assured, you also make others around you feel the same way.

A negative attitude, on the other hand, has, of course, an opposite effect. So, carrying a negative attitude has a twofold drawback. You feel bad about yourself, and you make others feel the same way.

Although it is impossible to keep ourselves from the negative things around us, you can still carry a positive attitude by focusing on the good things, the positive things in life, no matter what! Problems become something you can overcome.

You do not have anything at all to lose by adopting a healthy, positive attitude. Studies show that such an attitude actually retards aging, makes you healthier, helps you develop a better stress coping mechanism, and has a very positive effect on all the people you meet every day. So, what's not to like about a positive attitude? Adopt one today.

It is okay to cry when you experience pain. But do not let pain transform itself into fear! It might grab you by the tail and swing you around, but you MUST treat each failure and mistake as a lesson. More so, do not wrap yourself up with all the negativities of the world. Always learn how to make the best out of worst situations! GOOD MORNING FRIENDS!

Who is in control of your life and your destiny? Do you have a clear picture of where you are and where you are going or are you blinded and walking around in a daze?

If you are curious enough and look around you, it won’t take much to come to the conclusion that most people are living like lost puppets. They have lost all control of their lives and live according to what circumstance dictates or on someone else's opinions.

Even sadder is the fact that most have resigned themselves to the situation and see no way out of the drudgery, meaninglessness and emptiness of their lives. There are perhaps the fortunate ones, who realize that something is wrong. The more unfortunate do not even realize the futility of their existence. They are “lost” because they are either reading the wrong road map of life or they are using the correct map but going in the wrong direction. They are not in the driver’s seat! Someone else is actually pulling the strings.

So my question is, who is pulling your strings? Do not be a puppet in someone else's hands! Pull your own strings, even if the sounds ain't quite good, keep at it and you will surely scale through!

Laughter can boost the immune system. Try to have have a good laugh at least 20 times daily. It cuts down stress hormones while stimulating killer T- cells known to fight cancer!

While you are eating, you don't have to finish the big portions on your plate. Just eat the smallest portion that will satisfy your hunger and don't think that you always need to finish everything.

Stay away from frying. Even though frying is the easiest way to cook, there are other healthier methods like boiling, steaming, roasting, baking and poaching. Just try as much as you can to stay away from fried foods.

Health is wealth. So be sure to always stay healthy!

The finest spirits, the most exquisite wines, the nectars and ambrosias of modern tables, will be all spoilt by a few drops of bitter extract; and a bad temper has the same effect in life, which is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things, in which smiles and kindness, and small obligations given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart, and secure comfort.

In the course of my life, it has been my experience that the more smiles, hugs, compliments, kindness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and love I give to others, the more I receive back- making me more blessed by my gifts. And it is through that giving of myself, in which a lasting impression upon my soul is left- the things that have touched my heart are the things that stay with me, that keep me constantly aware of how positive life is (no matter the negativity), how powerful a simple smile can prove to be!

Praise is one of the most powerful and effective motivators in life. It is fertile soil for the soul; solid ground into which we can extend our roots to help us weather the storms of life.

When we encourage others, we foster creativity, but when we discourage them, we destroy it. And yet, even with this understanding, others cannot help us much if we are simply waiting around for their encouragement and praise. Doing so will most likely leave us feeling discouraged and depressed over time as we are placing a dependence on external catalysts for our happiness in life. Learn to encourage yourself more because it is what you have the you will give.

However, it is incredibly important for us to be aware of the encouragement and praise we are giving to others in our lives, and the positive effects we have on them, especially children, who are at a very impressionable stage of their lives. The encouragement we give to children is nourishment for their delicate flower of creativity; it is life-giving and supportive, contributing directly to the building and fostering of authenticity, imaginativeness, and creativity in this world.

Who will you encourage today? (Smile, it's a great week)!

It is important that we set some standards to live by so that our decisions are easier and better. Our characters are determined by our actions, therefore let us understand that everything we do will eventually be known.

But in all actuality, we do not even have to live as if everything will eventually be known, for the truth is that all that we do is already known by us.

Set goals and seek purpose and value in all you do. Most of us spend far too much time looking outside of ourselves for reasons to thrive a strategy that ultimately fails to do much for us. Yet by fostering our unique gifts and talents within, we can come to live our lives more fully and discover new ways in which we can actually put them to use and experience greater benefit from them.

Many of the happiest people I know are those who allow themselves to pursue things that interest them, to make it an important part of who they are and then share that passion with others in their lives. Doing so enables them to use their talents and abilities in productive and exciting ways that intrigue them, pique their interests, and beckon them to make use of the gifts they have. Have you found yours?

Always giving and never receiving? This is the short road to compassion fatigue. Give to yourself and open your heart to receive from others too, otherwise you will get to a point where you have nothing left to give. And hey, if you can't receive from others, how can you expect them to receive from you?

Did you know that people can make themselves over, and change their entire natures? This is not mere idle theory, but it's a working fact which has been demonstrated by thousands of people, and which is coming more and more before the attention of the race. So don't be too apt to regard yourself as the creature of your emotions and feelings, and to fancy that these feelings and emotions are "who I am or who we are".

Do not think that feelings are the things that rule you and that you cannot free yourself or rebel against it. Do not yield to the feeling without question- knowing fully well that these feelings could only bring unhappiness and failure instead of happiness and success. Do not say, "I am made that way," and let it go at that. NO!

The truth is, you are the master of your emotions and feelings and as such can never be their slave! You can decide to change who you feel you are or who the world perceive you to be only if you can ask help from GOD. If you try to change your nature through your efforts, you are only embarking on a futile venture. But if you allow GOD'S effort, you will enjoy a total transformation with ease!

It is the people who are closest to us that we count on the most.  We expect them to protect us, to defend us from people who may look down on us, and to guard the vulnerabilities we have revealed to them.

Once they start criticizing us, we immediately feel the intensity of the impact of their words.  We may feel like we are being attacked by those whom we trusted with our greatest secrets, including the weaknesses we have hidden from everyone else.

Weren’t they supposed to be the ones who would understand us the most?  Weren’t they the ones who should believe in us despite the imperfections that they see in us?

What's your take on this? Will love to know your thought. Thank you.

Believe in your possibilities and potential instead of your limitations and impossibilities. When we believe in the possibilities, we then approach them as if they can be accomplished, a technique that allows us to actually get them done. Many of the difficulties in our lives exist there- and remain there- because we believe in them and we believe in their power to harm us and to be problematic to us. But our belief in ourselves is an awesome power that can overcome our hesitancies, our deficiencies, our shortcomings, and change our lives to become so much more positive- so that you would start seeing the world as a playground, no longer a hustling ground. It all depends on your belief system!

It is important to always remember that we have been blessed with the gifts of intelligence and rational thought, of brotherhood and community, of the ability to reason and to persuade. And although these gifts may not always prevent violence from entering into our lives, they certainly can help to mitigate its effects and reduce its severity if we use them to define our actions as kind and caring, loving and compassionate, merciful and forgiving, grateful and appreciative, and constructive and supportive, rather than the violent urges that bring us down to the level of the beasts.

However, it all boils down to this question, "What am I contributing to the lives of those around me?" Either I am adding peace, love, compassion, forgiveness, mercy, and joy, or I am adding violence, anger, hate, and suffering. What do you use your gifts for?

No man or woman ever amounted to anything unless he or she put life into the tasks of everyday life - the acts - the thoughts. What the world needs is live men and women. Just look into the eyes of the people whom you meet, and see how few of them are really alive. The most of them lack that expression of conscious life which distinguishes the man who lives from the one who simply exists.

Far too many individuals worry about what other's think or say about them, or fear to step out of the comfort of what they have always known, and avoid taking risks, but risks are the only way for us to grow and to change into something new and better.

Living our lives small to save face squanders our opportunities, diminishes our potential, and prevents us from becoming the amazing person we were created to become- it really is no way to live our lives. Instead, we should aspire to confront our fears and conquer them, for creativity is not developed and nurtured in a safe environment, but out at sea, in the crucible of daring adventure. It demands that we leave the safety and comfort of the harbor, that we try something new and different, that we are authentic and not simply a copy of someone else.

Our happiness is not so much a product of the big things that occur in our lives, as it is the little things, as long as we let them make us happy. Unfortunately, there are those among us who desperately seek only for the "great pieces," who ignore the importance the little things play in their lives or take them for granted because they seem small or insignificant. But nothing could be further from the truth.

We do not have to wait for something big to happen before we can be happy; our lives are already filled with an endless supply of positive things, if only we would take full advantage of them. And often times all it takes is a slight change in our perspectives- a shifting of our focus towards recognizing the positive little things and accepting them as a remarkable part of our lives- to do just that.

When that song I really enjoy listening to comes on, or my drive home is safe and pleasant. When the hurts of yesterday have subsided and I wake up feeling refreshed, renewed, and excited for the day. When I receive a compliment from a complete stranger, or run into a friend who shares with me a moment of their day. It is there, in these little advantages, that we discover the "human felicity" that is ever present within us.

Thursday, 13 October 2016

Our uniqueness is a blessing to this world; it breathes life and creativity into it. And yet, there is something amazing about being able to agree with someone else about something. For when we do so, we experience a deeper bond with them, and a little more of the unity that so strongly defines us as human beings is exposed and shared. This helps to clarify the connections that we share with one another and elevates them into something much more real, clear, and focused.

The bond of shared feelings and perspectives undoubtedly is "one of life's choicest pleasures." And what is perhaps even more satisfying is our ability to share it with those in our lives, with those we love and care deeply about. This provides a natural channel through which we can elevate our relationships and build a unity and togetherness that does not require others to feel or see things as we do. In addition, it is important to recognize that we can access those feelings at any time simply by acknowledging that we are all family- we breathe the same air, live on the same planet, and share the common bonds of humanity.

It is, and always shall be, a great blessing when someone agrees with us and shares our feelings and perspectives. And when we can appreciate this blessing, and share it with others, little by little we can make life more pleasurable for ourselves and for those we love.

GOD does not ever waste experience- I mean, that situation you are going through is a big lesson that GOD wants you to learn from. See beyond that situation and pay attention to your spirit. A lot of people have given up on life because of what they are going through, but I tell you this, you can only qualify for the next level when you have successfully passed the difficult test of life. In fact I would say you should count yourself privileged for all the lessons learned from your past experiences because only then will you qualify for your breakthroughs. So friend, pay attention! See beyond your situation and be grateful!

Whether we recognize it- or even admit it- we all need some encouragement and hope in our lives. There are people in desperate need of it right now. And regardless of whether it is big or small, we all have the ability to offer that encouragement, hope, and understanding every day- each of us can contribute positively to the lives of those in need and then watch as extraordinary things begin to happen in the world around us because of the good we have put forth into it.

There was a group of children running in a local charity event who decided to pick on one of their smaller peers. Near the end of the race, the boys tripped up the smaller child and he fell sliding several feet on his arms and face. He was bleeding, embarrassed, and crying as the older children nearby taunted him- calling him names and yelling at him to stay down and cry like a baby.

And while the group of children howled insults at the boy, and jeered and laughed at him loudly, he began to stand up and dust off his shirt and pants, and slowly jog towards the finish line. He continued to push himself onward, and as he crossed the line, was met by his father and mother who hugged him. A few moments later, a boy from the crowd came up to him and said, "Did you not hear those boys telling you to give up, calling you names?" And the boy's parents said in reply, "He is deaf... he thought they were encouraging him the entire time." Wow, the boy was actually deaf, but thought his detractors were cheering him.

This is how to win- being deaf to the world's opinion about your abilities- what you can do! The moment you keep deaf ears to your situation, people's criticisms, the world's economic downturn and so on and focus on the promises of GOD concerning you, you MUST come out victorious!

So no matter what your five senses are seeing and making you to believe, turn deaf ears to them, see your situation as a stepping stone to your victory and begin to see the INFINITE!

No, not, don't, can't, won't, and what if's – these are the usual manifestations of negative thinking. It is if they have this function to build a wall between you and the place you are going; thus, holding you back from doing something without even trying. That is how evil negative thoughts can be.

Your words and thoughts can chart the course of your week/life, so be careful what you let come out of your mouth as a result of your thoughts. However you want your life to be, speak it, think it!

How steady is your mind in the midst of all that's happening? That will determine what flows out of it!

What we think about and THANK about is what we bring about.

Happy Sunday.

Fear paralyses a mans desire to achieve his dreams- it scares the life out of it. You must get rid of fear. There had been times in my life when fear got hold of me and took a good, firm grip on my vitals, and I would lose all hope; all interest; all ambition; all desire. But, I thank GOD I have and will always throw off the grip of the monster and face/win any challenge. The truth is that things have a way of straightening out for me somehow whenever I don't worry myself or allow fear to have its way. Either the difficulty would melt away or I would be given means to overcome it. It is strange how this works. No matter how difficult a situation is, when we finally face it with courage and absolute trust in GOD, we always pull through somehow, and then we begin to wonder what we were scared about in the first place.

What is it that uses up all the energy in the average man or woman, anyway? Is it the real overcoming of difficulties, or the worrying about tomorrow? It's always "Tomorrow, tomorrow," and yet tomorrow never comes just as we feared it would.

Friend, Tomorrow is all right; it carries in its grip good things! Only trust in GOD absolutely. And whenever these fears or negative thoughts want to take hold of you, speak directly to it by declaring your stand as heir to the kingdom. Remember that words have power and whatever you speak comes back to you. Your tomorrow is all right, friend. Go ahead and say it "my tomorrow is all right".

We sometimes have a tendency to forget ourselves and to set aside our needs in order to care for other people.  This is not bad!  But we must remember that the most important gift we could ever give to the world is to be the best of who we are. It is our very presence that should stir joy and inspiration in their hearts, not merely the things that we do.

Think about our relationship with GOD.  GOD gives us many things – food to eat, clothes to wear, friends to talk to, activities to enjoy, dreams to achieve, missions to accomplish.  But though these things be good and many, not one of them could ever compare to the GIVER of them all.  Even if we could have HIS gifts, our happiness would not be complete without HIS Very Presence, the Gift of HIMSELF!

We do not seek GOD in order to have the world, we seek GOD because if we have HIM, we would not need anything more!

You are a gift to the world, don't you ever forget that!

This 'tussle' of projecting blame outward toward another, rather than 'owning' our own part in the reflection has seeded in homes, because children have often witnessed adults behaving unkindly, aggressively, assumptively and competitively with each other. We can instill a culture of the opposite, which leads to the desire of most i.e., PEACE.

Leniency, with each other, often construed as 'forgiveness', is required. As human beings we are all fallible. We have all at some points unintentionally strayed from our own contracts, not necessarily willfully, often simply because we were too busy and overwhelmed in the day's pressurized ways that we got deeply habitualized in the non-constructive behaviour.

Patience and kindness (the two friends) is required to help coax our minds and actions away from these happiness sabotaging habits.

Monday, 3 October 2016

I used to have a friend(s) who whenever she is around me, the rest of my day will be sad and moody. She is so negative and does not have anything good to offer as far as my state of mind and being is concerned. So one day, I made up my mind to quit that friendship. She was out of my life for the best, and I think you should do same as well. You cannot afford to waste your life with people who will never add value to your life!

The truth is, the people we surround ourselves with often have a larger impact on who we are and the person we are becoming than we generally like to believe, and the ways in which they treat us- through their words and actions- tend to become our mantra. If they build us up and encourage us, we, too, believe in ourselves and our abilities. But if they tear us down or belittle us, we tend to question our abilities and usually are satisfied with settling for less than what we are capable of or deserve.

Each day we have the choice to surround ourselves with constructive individuals who might help to build us up, or destructive individuals who seek to tear us down. However unimportant such decisions might seem to us in the short term, they will most assuredly go on to determine whether much of our experiences in life are positive or negative.

And quite frankly, quit the company of miserable or negative individuals who bring you down and make you feel bad. Make it a priority to seek out those who make you feel good, and do your best to make them feel good as well!

The act of forgiveness is a conscious choice to let go, to move past feelings of resentment, and to to move forward in light and love. Holding on to unforgiveness is like carrying a bucket of stones. With each step, the bucket gets heavier and heavier until it is exhausting ti bear.

Examine the stones of unforgiveness, take them all out one by one from the bucket, and release them to GOD. Trust me, unforgiveness only imprisons you and keeps you bound for as long as you carry the heavy stones of unforgiveness and resentment. Let it all go and fill the bucket with light, peace and freedom.

Happy 56th anniversary to my country, Nigeria. Thank GOD for HIS mercies thus far. The truth is Nigeria still has a very long way to go and that change we are all clamouring for begins with you and I. If we all claim to be good, I see no reason why Nigeria shouldn't get better than where she is now. We are not true and good to ourselves; why do we think that only one man can bring the CHANGE that this country truly deserves! A true Christian or Muslim will surely make a good citizen, but how many of us are true worshippers of this true GOD?

Why not become the change that you seek! Your friend becomes rich and treats you like trash, forgets where he or she is coming from. But if we begin that change from our immediate environment, we will begin to experience a new and better Nigeria!

I pray that GOD helps us all to truly have the love in our hearts to be good to one another and as such be GOOD CITIZENS of this great country! LONG LIVE NIGERIA! Happy 56th birthday!
