There is something called "opportunity cost" in Economics. Do I have any Economic student in the house? It is the price you pay or the losses you suffer in other to gain something. It could be breaking a bad relationship. It could be cutting the number of hours you sleep, or number of times you watch TV. It could be giving up on those friends inorder to have a more blissful relationship with your spouse.
What do you need to stop doing that will eventually pay off for you? You can't advance without sacrifice. You can't become a good writer if you do not practice writing every day. Reject laziness! Ask yourself, "what must I drop or let go in order to make faster progress as parents, in my marriage, skills, job/career?"
It will please me to let you know that the brief delay you are experiencing now before your breakthrough could be the price for your character moulding by GOD!
