IT ISN'T WHAT THEY CALL YOU; BUT WHAT YOU ANSWER TO!

I heard this touching story about late Steve Jobs, (the founder of the Ipad or IPhone you hear about or probably use- the CEO of Apple, one of the most valuable companies in the world, a billionaire many times over and one of the most respected people in the world even after his death!) and I felt I should share it with you; someone might get encouraged by it.

I learnt he was born out of wedlock, to graduate student parents. He was considered a mistake, which made his parents to give him up for adoption thereafter! He was adopted and raised in a working class family, and his foster father fixed cars for a living. He dropped out of college after one semester only. His highest qualification was in high school. While he was in college, he slept on the floor in friends rooms, returned Coke bottles to make money.

In 1985, he was fired very publicly, from the very company he founded (Apple), after losing a power struggle with the board of directors.  In 1997, he returned as CEO after Apple had bought over NEXT, the company Steve founded after leaving Apple. Yet, he battled with cancer for years until he died.

Most people like me who did not really know much about Steve Jobs would assume that he probably had a privileged life, had his path to success laid out for him.

In spite of his background, experiences, he refused to be called a mistake! He chose a different life from where he came from! He did not allow his past to define him. He kept pressing on to make a difference. It didn't matter how long it would take him, all he did was to keep pressing on! It was not an easy road for him, but he left a legacy that lives on even at his death.

Every one of us have wonders hidden in us, waiting for circumstances to evoke them. Do not give up! As long as you have a dream, keep pressing on, opportunity will happen for you one day!

Have a great weekend and keep pressing on!
