WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT SITTING FOR TOO LONG.

Most of us sit for long periods during our day-to-day lives. We sit when we eat and relax, and many of us sit when we work. Studies suggest that for every two hours we sit, two years of our lives disappear.

Many studies even suggest that sitting for more than three hours per day is responsible for around 4% of worldwide deaths. Of course, we cannot prove this categorically, but there’s no denying that “sitting disease” is a real thing. Throughout evolution, we have learned to sit for longer probably because sitting, compared to standing, is less tiring.

Over an extended period, sitting for too long is responsible for chronic inflammation, causing your immune system to be less effective and is connected with many severe and chronic diseases——and also sitting for too long can also cause you to gain weight—another trigger for chronic conditions.

The answer? You could argue that sitting is a necessity, and in many ways, it is. However, it is essential to get up and move around during the day as much as possible.

Did you know? Studies have linked long periods of sitting down with conditions such as increased blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, weight gain, and high cholesterol.

So sit less and walk more. Say no to a sedentary lifestyle. Have an amazing week. 🚶‍♀️❤️
