Excellence means a state of possessing good qualities in an eminent degree; exalted degree; superiority in virtue. How amazing.
Do you know that one does not just become excellent without having to go through some "work outs"? Not keeping fit physically (which is good), but working on your "being". The bible says in Daniel 5:11-12, that Daniel had an excellent spirit, knowledge and understanding to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve problems.
Thomas Edison said "Genius is one percent inspiration, but 99 percent transpiration. To strive for excellence, here are a few things you need to do:
Change what you see. Change your vision. Look beyond what you see.
Learn to go the extra mile. Stop being satisfied with just "being there". Excellence requires handwork.
Try paying attention to little details. Be meticulous.
Learn to prepare, practice and plan. The truth is, prepareation belongs to man. But when preparation means opportunity, the result is excellence.
Always finish what you start. When situation arises, refuse to yield to it. And by not yielding, you will will come out in flying colours. Some of us get discouraged whenever we face a situation, but If we learn to stay on the line and not look back, we will come out victorious. Always tell yourself "I will finish what I started". You will always have whatever you say- be it positive or negative. So let us watch our tongue.
Excellence will require you putting in your best.
Intend to improve on yourself at all times. Do not be "anything goes". Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings not obscure men "Proverbs 22:29.
