CREATING THE DREAM

"When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece" John Ruskin

When asked why people invent, Mark Twain replied, "To give birth to an idea-to discover a great thought-an intellectual nugget, right under the dust of a field that many a brain-plow had gone over before. To be the first-that is to put yourself into something innovative and worthwhile, and then to see it come to fruition. But the process of creating can be a roller coster of heights and lows, ecstasies and despairs before you experience the reward.

Recognising Vision as a principle that enables the art of creating.

"Determine that the thing can and shall be done and then we shall find the way"

Abraham Lincoln.

All things are created twice. All things. Vision is the first creation. For a house it is called a mission. For a day it is called a goal and a plan. For a parent it is called a belief in the unseen potential of a child. For all, it is the mental creation which always precedes the physical, or second creation.

Vision not only helps you spot present opportunities where others might not see them, but it also points us towards the future and inspires us to ask.  "Where do I want to be in five years from now? Ten years from now? To answer these questions takes time-it even takes some dreaming. A master among masters of vision and dreaming was Walt Disney. His creative genius and sense of vision helped him to spot ideas that were invisible to others and to look ahead to future opportunities.  As you enjoy "wish Upon a Star" and the other stories demonstrating the principle of vision, consider specifically your vision of the accomplishment and plans you must want to achieve over the next year to five years and also how you might accomplish them.

Let us also be aware that no one can be more passionate about your vision than you are. The onus is on you to be sensitive to opportunities that are birthed in the place of vision.

Dreaming without putting forth the assertion to realise the wish only undermines the character. It is only practical dreaming that counts, dreaming coupled with necessary actions and persistent endeavours. Dreams do come through!
