THE DEFINITION OF A GREAT MARRIAGE

A great marriage is not only about the love you had in the beginning, but how well you continue building your love till the end. Marriage is not just a ceremony that lasts only a day,  but a journey of a life time. That is why one should know exactly what one wants before venturing into marriage. The greatest happiness on earth is the happiness of marriage. "A man who is utterly in love with his wife does not hesitate to show it in whichever way that pleases him; his life is always beautiful and things tend to fall into place for him with ease". When you set a standard for yourself in whichever area of your life, you work hard to meet up with the standard.  The same applies to marriage.  Many marriages would be better if the husband and wife have a clear understanding that they are on the same side. So learning from my parents and some few research I made, I found out that couples that enjoy great marriages have these in common:

They love each other genuinely.

They have their "me time", together every day.

I remember when we were kids, whenever my parents returned from work, they will disappear into their room for like 3 good hours. Then we used to wonder why they were always doing that, until we grew up and found out that they needed time to be together and "catch up". That is why their love is strong till date.

They are transparent to each other. They do not hide anything from each other.

They talk about how their day went.

They have their "mission statement". And they made up their mind to love each other through thick and thin.(So, a great marriage is a choice).

They hug and kiss every time.

They made it clear that their priority is their marriage.

They are kind to each other and appreciate it other.

They make up easily whenever they have an argument.

They are not selfish to one another.

They take decisions together.

They share the same room and the same bed.

Above all, they pray together. There is an adage that says " The family that prays together, stays together.
